About
Marla Zide’s interest in the law began early, shaped by childhood visits to her father’s office on Saturdays. Originally from New England, she moved to Maryland in 1993 to attend Goucher College, earning a B.A. in psychology in 1997 with a minor in Women’s Studies. She received her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2001, where she focused on family law, completed two semesters in the Family Law Clinic, and worked with the Maryland Legal Service Network (MLAN), contributing to statewide legal resource efforts, including the People’s Law Library. Admitted to the Maryland Bar in December 2001, Ms. Zide began her litigation career at the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, representing clients in protective order hearings. She primarily serves Anne Arundel County and also represents clients in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Harford County, and several Eastern Shore counties. Her practice includes separation, divorce, custody, visitation, child support, alimony, family support, and adoption matters for parents, grandparents, other third parties, and children. Ms. Zide is known for steady advocacy and clear guidance in emotionally demanding cases. She helps clients stay focused on practical outcomes while feeling heard and supported throughout the process. Her recognitions include an Honoree designation at the Pro Bono Resource Center’s 15th Anniversary Gala (2005), Leading Lawyer recognition by What’s Up Annapolis (2009), Super Lawyers Rising Star (2010–2011), and Super Lawyer in Family Law (2013–2025). She has also been listed among the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Maryland (2014–2025) and the Top 100 Lawyers in Maryland (2015–2025), with additional honors including the Rosalyn Bell Award (2023) and the Daily Record Top 100 Women (2024). She remains active in the Maryland State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association. Call 410-760-9433 to schedule a consultation.
