About

John Schneider is a partner at Wosnik Law, and an experienced criminal defense attorney who has represented clients in both criminal and civil matters across north Georgia. John has extensive trial experience, and has achieved not guilty verdicts or dismissals on criminal charges ranging from misdemeanor theft and battery to serious felonies, such as kidnapping and sexual offenses. He has also successfully advocated for his clients at other crucial proceedings, such as divorce and child custody hearings, probation revocation hearings, and appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia. John graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law (Juris Doctor) and the College of Charleston (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science). While in law school, he interned at the Clarke County Public Defender’s Office, where he saw firsthand the need for effective representation of indigent defendants, those who cannot afford to hire an attorney. After graduation, he worked for five years at the Walton County Public Defender’s Office, during which time he represented over a thousand clients, helping them to negotiate with prosecutors and argue their cases to juries. Since entering private practice, John has also advocated for his clients in contested divorce and child custody actions, helping them to achieve fair outcomes from the legal system in some of the hardest moments of their lives. His family law practice also includes adoptions, father's rights, grandparent rights, guardianships, and family violence protective orders. John is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Walton County Bar Association, where he currently serves as vice president. He is admitted to the practice of law in all Superior Courts and lower courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
