About
I’m Joseph H. Van Every, a trial attorney based in Mississippi and the owner and managing attorney of Van Every Law, a family firm that has served Mississippi families since 1942. I’m proud to continue the legacy my grandfather began, a man affectionately known in the region as “Lawyer Van.” At Van Every Law, I represent clients across the state in personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, trucking litigation, criminal defense, probate, and civil litigation cases. Growing up in a family with deep ties to the legal profession, I learned early on the value of hard work, integrity, and standing up for everyday people. Watching my father and grandfather advocate for injured clients, families in need, and individuals facing challenging legal battles instilled in me the belief that every client deserves honest advice, personal attention, and strong representation in the courtroom. I’ve had the privilege of representing clients in both state and federal courts across Mississippi. My work has included handling complex wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases involving commercial trucking companies, medical providers, insurers, and corporate defendants. My approach is rooted in thorough preparation, a commitment to client-focused representation, and a readiness to take on tough cases, no matter the size or resources of the opposing party. Beyond specializing in handling serious injury litigation and wrongful death litigation, and medical malpractice cases, I maintain a robust criminal defense, family law, and probate practice, continuing the full-service tradition that has been a hallmark of my family’s firm for generations. Today, I remain dedicated to upholding the values that my family built this practice on over eight decades ago: loyalty to clients, hard work, honesty, and an unwavering commitment to justice.
