David J Nunez

David J. Nuñez is an El Paso–based trial attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense and select civil and personal injury matters. He represents clients throughout all stages of criminal proceedings and advocates on behalf of individuals pursuing personal injury claims arising from negligence. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Nuñez served nearly five years as a prosecutor, where he handled a wide range of cases spanning misdemeanors to capital felony matters. This experience provides him with firsthand insight into how criminal cases are evaluated, charged, and litigated by the State. Before opening his own practice, he spent more than four years in private practice at the Valenzuela Law Firm, where he defended clients accused of offenses including DWI, assault, family-violence allegations, theft, white-collar crimes, fraud, and homicide. Mr. Nuñez is known for his thorough preparation, strategic motion practice, and trial-focused approach to defense. He works closely with his clients to evaluate evidence, challenge unlawful searches and seizures, scrutinize witness credibility, and pursue favorable resolutions when appropriate—while always preparing cases as if they will be tried before a jury. Licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico and admitted to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Mr. Nuñez represents clients throughout the El Paso region with professionalism, discretion, and diligence.
