About
Brian M. Urban limits his practice to Collaborative Family Law. Brian's firm, Urban Collaborative Divorce Law Firm LLC, serves all of Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. He chooses to help clients who wish to avoid divorce litigation by choosing the collaborative process. Brian is a founding member of the Cleveland Academy of Collaborative Professionals, a non-profit organization of attorneys and allied professionals committed to maximizing the benefits of the collaborative divorce option. He previously served as the President of the Center for Principled Family Advocacy, a non-profit organization of attorneys and allied professionals who are committed to the advancement of ADR processes to resolve family law matters. Beginning in 2007, Brian served upon the collaborative task force for the additional ADR options subcommittee for the Ohio Supreme Court. This task force was instrumental in the passage of the Ohio Collaborative Family Law Act in December, 2012. Brian has been frequently selected to speak upon a wide range of family law topics, including Advanced Collaborative Law for the Ohio State Bar Association. He has over 300 hours of training in collaborative process, plus over 75 hours in mediation training. Brian is included in the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and has received multiple peer recognition awards. He is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Brian previously served the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, both as a trustee and as a chairman of its Family Law Section. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from John Carroll University and J.D. degree, cum laude, from Cleveland State University.
