Ira Rushing

Ira has unique and diverse experience as a litigation attorney in large and mid-size law firms, as a solo practitioner, and as a military lawyer. Ira focuses much of his time on the representation of military personnel and federal agents and employees, as well as private employers and non-profit corporations. Ira’s practice areas include military law, national security representation, veterans’ benefits, and labor and employment. In addition to his legal experience, Ira is certified in process improvement methods and has extensive project management and leadership experience throughout over 20 years of service in both the US Marine Corps and Army National Guard. Ira also currently serves as a judge advocate in the Mississippi National Guard. From brigade-level judge advocate in one of the largest units in the Army National Guard to international and operations law attorney in a small joint special operations task force, Ira has demonstrated the ability to analyze and understand complex military issues and provide informed legal advice. Having spent 11 years as an enlisted Marine and Soldier before receiving his commission, Ira understands the unique and nuanced experiences of servicemembers and their families and is dedicated to their success. Ira brings practical knowledge to client engagements, drawing upon many years of working with clients in manufacturing, production, and legal services. Ira plays a key role in ensuring that complex matters are clearly defined and scoped at the outset, assisting in the development of process controls, staffing, budgeting, and an agreed-upon schedule to meet the client’s operational and strategic goals. Mr. Rushing was named a Super Lawyers: Rising Star in 2023-2025, a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in 2025-2026, was recognized as On the Rise in Mississippi from the Southeastern Legal Awards, and received the 2025 Lawdragon 500 X Next Generation award.
