Nicholas Torres

Nick L. Torres is the founder and managing partner of Torres & Zheng at Law, P.C., a boutique business law firm serving entrepreneurs, startups, and international companies. His practice focuses on cross-border corporate and securities transactions, including venture capital financing, private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and securities offerings and listings, with a specialty in Restaurant Law and China Practice. With professional experience spanning both New York and Beijing, Nick has developed a practice centered on helping internationally minded entrepreneurs navigate complex business and legal transactions. Prior to founding Torres & Zheng at Law, he worked with top law firms in China and the United States and gained extensive experience in cross-border business matters involving U.S. and Chinese companies. Nick earned his JD from Emory University School of Law, where he also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Corporate Governance and Accountability Review. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and also learned Mandarin Chinese language studies at East China Normal University and Beijing International Studies University. Before entering the legal profession, Nick spent several years working internationally as an English language instructor in South Korea, China, and Australia. His international background continues to shape his practical and culturally informed approach to client representation. He is fluent in English, professionally proficient in Mandarin Chinese, and conversational in Korean and Spanish.
