Mr. Weinberg manages all of the transactional real estate matters at the firm and participates in all aspects of land use and entitlement matters. Mr. Weinberg's specialty practice focuses on real estate sales, acquisitions, developments, leases and financings. Our client base is private developers and development companies across California, as well a few real estate equity funds, such as CityView. Some recent significant projects include the following: Obtain entitlements to redevelop the last mobilehome park in Santa Monica, CA with 400 luxury rental units and retail. Subsequent sale of the entitled land to a national multi-family builder. Local Counsel for Lehman Brothers Holdings in restructuring a $770 million loan for the El Toro Marine Base redevelopment project encompassing 4,000 acres in Irvine, California. $100 million sale of two acute care hospitals, along with medical practices and physician services business. Sophisticated multi party 1031 exchnage transactions, together with dissolution of multiple joint venture ownership of the assets. $60 million acquisition of LA Mart, including tranched financing and redevelopment work for unused land. Acquisition and entitlement of 1,200 acre parcel in Malibu for luxury home development. Joint venture financing for entitlement and pre-development work. Multiple sales, acquisitions, and fund development for a west-coast based real estate investment fund with in excess of $1 Billion under management. Dozens of sophisticated secured loan transactions, including such recent examples as a $40 million CMBS loan for a luxury hotel on Sunset Boulevard, and a $20 million EB-5 foreign investor loan for a project in Hollywood. Outside Counsel for City of Tustin for multiple sales of parcels within a redeveloping Marine Corp air-base. Macerich redevelopment of Santa Monica Place, Cerritos Mall and Victor Valley Mall
