Thomas Dwayne Reid

Thomas D. Reid received his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Prior to his law school career, he studied Criminal Justice at the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. Tom is currently licensed to practice law in California and Oregon. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, the University of Nevada Alumni Association, and the Oregon and California State Bars. He served as the Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and is currently a past President of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association. Tom also has lectured for the National Business Institute, and has worked as adjunct professor for Heald College’s and MTI College's paralegal programs. Tom has practiced estate planning and business law since 2005. During the representation of his clients, Tom provided a wide variety of services including but not limited to representing beneficiaries in multi-million dollar trust disputes, serving as legal counsel in trust litigation cases, assisting clients in minimizing estate tax liability and unnecessary probate fees, probating estates, and drafting business documents for small to medium sized businesses in the Northern California area. After ten years at Happe Reid, PC, on January 1, 2021, Tom opened The Law Office of Thomas D. Reid, APC, where he provides estate planning and business services, probate and trust administration services, and litigation support for the firm’s business and estate clients. His focus on advocacy in law school and his professional career provided an invaluable asset to the firm’s clients by both counseling clients as to how to avoid litigation and providing litigation support for clients who find themselves involved in litigation. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Tom currently resides with his wife, Kate, and sons, Hayes, Tate and Ky, and dog, Marlin, in Fair Oaks, California.
