Dayna L. Jones

Since earning my law degree in 2007, I have devoted my career to criminal defense. I began by gaining valuable experience as a defense attorney at several firms before starting my own practice in 2010. After more than ten years as a solo practitioner, I became a founding partner at Jones & De La Garza. My practice involves handling cases at every stage, with a particular emphasis on post-conviction appeals and writs of habeas corpus. As lead counsel, I have successfully overturned over 14 wrongful convictions, and seven of my clients are currently listed in the National Registry of Exonerations. Additionally, I have worked as co-counsel on numerous other wrongful conviction cases. I am proud to serve on the Board of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and participate as a member of the Bexar County Managed Assigned Counsel’s Oversight Committee. I am also an active member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
