Luis M. Avila

Luis Avila is son of humble Mexican immigrants who worked hard, instilling in him the importance of hard honest work and helping others along the way. His early life experiences shaped his desire to seek justice when life treats people unfairly. One such experience occurred when his father suffered a work accident that left him unable to work, and yet, he did not receive due compensation for his hard years of work. This injustice sparked in Mr. Avila a lifelong hunger to help simple folk, and he decided to become a lawyer to achieve it. He graduated from law school and became licensed 40 years ago. Today, he proudly holds licenses in both California and Texas. Striving to be the best trial lawyer, he has pursued advanced studies throughout his lifetime. In 1990, he passed a rigorous exam to become Board Certified in Personal Injury law, an honor few attorneys can claim. He is also a member of the Trial Lawyers College, an exclusive group of attorneys dedicated to being the best in their fields. BUT HIS GREATEST PRIDE is becoming a pupil and later a faculty member of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyer's College, a school where attorneys learn to represent people by truly knowing them as if they were his friends or family. Only then can a lawyer talk to judges and juries about the pain and suffering of his clients. Mr. Avila is also proud to say that he does not...and has never represented corporations or insurance companies. He works only for people. That is his calling and serves them in both California and Texas. He has tried hundreds of cases and settled hundreds more, earning just verdicts and making insurance companies pay what is just. His motto is "No Justice No Peace".
