Evan A. Hoffman

Evan Hoffman of The Hoffman Firm has committed his legal career to defending the rights of individuals across Florida. With more than 17 years of experience handling complex criminal cases, he brings a deep understanding of trial strategy to every case he takes on. Mr. Hoffman began his career in 1998 as an Assistant State Prosecutor with the Broward County State Attorney's Office. In that role, he prosecuted a broad range of misdemeanor and felony offenses, including battery, drug possession, and driving under the influence (DUI). Over the course of his time in the prosecutor’s office, he tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict and managed over 120 non-jury trials. Following his time as a prosecutor, Mr. Hoffman transitioned to criminal defense, drawing upon his prosecutorial insight to advocate on behalf of those facing charges throughout Miami and the state of Florida. He established The Hoffman Firm with the belief that a thorough understanding of both sides of the courtroom is essential to mounting an effective defense. Mr. Hoffman has contributed articles on key issues in criminal law, including DUI, domestic violence, and unlawful search and seizure. In 2016, he was the only attorney in South Florida to uncover a significant flaw in a specific breath test machine used in DUI prosecutions. His discovery revealed that more than 50 individuals may have been wrongfully convicted, and the charges against his client were dismissed as a result.
