Vanessa Sanders

Ms. Sanders is a highly skilled attorney and litigator with extensive experience in family and matrimonial law. Before joining The Colwell Law Group, LLC, she owned and operated a law practice on Long Island, focusing on family law matters. Throughout her career, Ms. Sanders has been dedicated to guiding clients through challenging times, providing support from the beginning of litigation to its resolution. She also served as a conflict defender with the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office, assisting clients in both criminal and family court cases. “My approach is compassionate and client-centered, and it’s the foundation of my work here at The Colwell Law Group,” says Ms. Sanders. “This approach has been shaped and strengthened through my years of experience representing victims of domestic abuse at The Safe Center in Nassau County.” In addition to her expertise in family and matrimonial law, Ms. Sanders has handled diverse and complex cases in negligence and immigration law in New York City, specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, and lead poisoning cases. Ms. Sanders earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College. She is admitted to the New York State Bar, as well as the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
