Karis Joi Johnson

Karis Joi Johnson is the founder of Blue Ribbon Law Group, a Texas law firm serving clients in family law, special education advocacy, and estate planning. Her practice focuses on helping families, parents, and individuals understand important decisions, prepare thoughtfully, and move forward with clarity. Karis assists clients with divorce, child custody, child support, parenting plans, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate planning, ARD/IEP meetings, 504 plans, school discipline, manifestation determination reviews, and special education concerns. Before becoming an attorney, Karis spent nearly two decades in education as a special education teacher and district administrator. Her experience included ARD/IEP leadership, compliance, behavior, discipline, evaluation coordination, eligibility processes, campus administration, and special programs administration. She also served as District Coordinator for Section 504, Dyslexia & Instruction, Homebound, and Special Education. Karis brings a practical, plain-English approach to legal guidance.
