Richard Delonis

I am a lawyer focusing on business, construction, condominium/HOA, and real estate matters. I have had the privilege of representing a diverse range of clients, including individuals, small and mid-sized businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and financial institutions, in both litigation and transactional work. My background includes handling complex commercial contract disputes, construction defect and lien claims, shareholder disputes, and real estate title issues. I have represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, and arbitration proceedings, with construction cases in Florida and Michigan involving amounts in controversy exceeding $100 million. For more than 30 years, I have served as legal counsel to condominium and homeowner associations, assisting with collections, condominium bylaw matters, and advising Board of Directors members on fulfilling their administrative responsibilities. In my role as either in-house general counsel or outside counsel, I have supported numerous companies and clients in launching new business ventures. I have prepared limited liability company operating agreements, corporate shareholder agreements, buy-sell agreements, license agreements, non-compete agreements, strategic alliance agreements, and employee handbooks. My work also includes negotiating and preparing commercial leases and real estate sales transactions. My approach is shaped by my entrepreneurial background, having served as Vice President and Assistant Director of Operations for a company in the health and fitness industry. Additionally, I have negotiated and prepared television production agreements, along with related licensing and merchandising contracts. I am a member of the Business Law, Litigation, and Real Estate Law sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
