Stephen Reese Lockard

I’m a litigation attorney at J&Y Law, where I represent plaintiffs in personal injury cases, including those involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and serious bodily injury. My goal is to help injured clients secure full and fair compensation by focusing on strategic case development, assertive negotiation, and, when needed, trial advocacy. Before joining J&Y Law, I primarily handled commercial and residential lease disputes, construction-related claims, and complex transactional matters. Prior to that, I spent nearly three years at a defense litigation firm, managing cases that ranged from professional liability and construction defect to habitability and insurance coverage disputes. My experience on the defense side has given me valuable insight into how opposing parties assess and approach litigation, and I now use that perspective to better assist my injured clients. I earned my J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2018. During law school, I interned with the Fulton County Metro Conflict Defender’s Office and the nonprofit organization Rehabilitation Enables Dreams, which works to reduce recidivism among first-time, non-violent offenders. Additionally, I served as a mediator with the Fulton County Landlord-Tenant Mediation Program, helping to resolve various property disputes. I approach my practice with a focus on thoughtful strategy, persuasive advocacy, and finding solutions for even the most complex cases. Outside of work, I enjoy playing and watching sports, cooking, listening to music, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
