Lara Nicole Browne

Lara N. Browne is an attorney at the Steinberg Law Firm, focusing on workers’ compensation law. Before joining the firm, she served as Legal Counsel for a large self-insured healthcare organization in the Lowcountry, managing a workers’ compensation program for over 6,000 employees. Her background includes extensive defense-side experience, having represented employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators at a major defense firm. This insight allows her to navigate cases strategically on behalf of injured workers. After a decade on the defense side, Lara transitioned to representing injured workers, finding fulfillment in advocating for their rights and alleviating their stress. A graduate of Penn State and Temple University Beasley School of Law, she has been practicing in South Carolina for over 10 years. During law school, she volunteered with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, refining her investigative skills. Lara’s career path was shaped by her passion for helping others. Before law, she worked in substance abuse counseling, recruitment, and staffing, gaining valuable negotiation and communication skills. Her lifelong commitment to service includes volunteering at a nursing home, hospital, psychological services hotline, and the Red Cross. Originally from Pennsylvania, Lara moved to South Carolina in 2013 with her husband, Chris. They now live in Mount Pleasant with their three children. In her free time, she enjoys Penn State sports, fantasy football, strength training, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.
