Susan Fremit

I was born in Britain and moved to Canada as a young child. During my teenage years, I traveled between England, Portugal, and Spain while completing my secondary school education. I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in French and a minor in Spanish from the University of Calgary, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from the same university in 1989. Later, I pursued an American Master of Laws with a focus in litigation from the George Washington University School of Law, receiving my degree in 2003. I became an American citizen in 2006. In 1991, I established my law firm in Windsor and Essex County, Ontario, Canada, where I represented clients charged under various Canadian laws including the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Over ten years, I handled over 1,000 cases involving criminal, DUI, and traffic charges. A significant number of these cases went to trial, where I gained considerable experience in trial preparation, research, developing arguments, and working with witnesses, which often led to successful outcomes. In 2008, I founded the Law Firm of Susan F. Fremit, P.C. in Arlington, Virginia, aiming to bring my decade of Canadian legal experience to clients in the U.S. facing criminal, DUI, and traffic charges in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, and Falls Church, Virginia. I was admitted to the United States District Court Eastern District of Virginia (4th Circuit Court) in 2009. In 2012, my firm relocated from Arlington to Spotsylvania, Virginia, continuing to serve clients with the same dedication and commitment to justice.
