Angelica M. Mercado, Esq. is a Founding Partner of Snyder Kenney & Mercado LLC, representing clients in all aspects of family law, including complex and high-conflict matrimonial, non-dissolution, and domestic violence matters. Angelica is a fluent Spanish speaker, providing legal representation to both English and Spanish-speaking clients throughout the State of New Jersey. Angelica is actively involved in professional and community organizations, including the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, Hispanic National Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Morris County Bar Association, and Essex County Bar Association. She currently serves as a Trustee-at-Large for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, a Board Member of the Association for Latino Professionals for America (NJ), and a Trustee for the Morris County Bar Foundation. Angelica is a frequent speaker and lecturer on topics in family law, presenting for organizations such as Lawline, Justia, Practising Law Institute, Quimbee, NJICLE, Essex County Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, Hispanic National Bar Association, ALPFA NJ, American Association of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and myLawCLE. Angelica earned her JD and Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University, where she received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Center for Social Justice Clinical Programs. As a Center for Social Justice Scholar, she worked on public-interest initiatives, including the Immigration and International Human Rights Clinic. While there, she contributed substantially to the amicus brief filed on behalf of the Center for Constitutional Rights in Acoli v. New Jersey State Parole, 273 A.3d 426 (2022). She also successfully obtained asylum for a client fleeing political persecution. Angelica previously served as a Law Clerk in the New Jersey Superior Court’s Family Part in Somerset County for the Honorable John P. McDonald, J.S.C.
