About
I’m Chase, an Associate Attorney at Skillern Firm, where I focus on guiding families through the challenges of family law matters with a client-centered approach. I recognize the personal nature of these cases and work diligently to protect my clients’ rights, interests, and sense of stability. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University and began my career in the Texas Legislature as a Legislative Director and Policy Analyst. During my time there, I gained a solid understanding of how laws are developed and applied, which now influences my strategic approach to family law cases. I received my Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2016. While in law school, I had the opportunity to clerk for the Honorable Judge David Farr and Associate Judge Eileen Gaffney in the 312th District Court, where I gained hands-on experience with family law litigation. My legal career began in 2015 as a law clerk with Jenkins & Kamin, LLP, where I became an associate attorney in 2016. In 2021, I joined the Law Office of Phillip G. Ghutzman, representing clients in cases involving paternity, child custody, marital agreements, and property division. In 2024, I moved to Walters Gilbreath, PLLC, handling high-conflict custody disputes and complex asset division matters from start to finish. In October 2025, I joined Skillern Firm as an Associate Attorney, where I remain committed to delivering compassionate and results-oriented representation in family law. My practice areas include divorce, custody, mediation, property division, and prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements. Clients appreciate my approachable nature, strategic thinking, and dedication to achieving favorable outcomes both inside and outside the courtroom.
