Stacy Sawyer

I am a dedicated advocate who prioritizes my clients and their well-being. While attending South Texas College of Law in Houston, I joined Skillern Firm Divorce & Child Custody Lawyers as a law clerk and quickly became a valued part of the team. Working closely with the firm’s partners and senior attorneys, I gained hands-on experience in all areas of family law. After earning my law degree and being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, I transitioned smoothly from law clerk to associate attorney. Helping families navigate times of change is incredibly meaningful to me, which makes practicing family law a natural path. By combining knowledge, dedication, and compassion, I work to guide my clients through the emotional challenges of family law proceedings while striving for positive outcomes. I pride myself on being diligent, prepared, and skilled in my work. I believe what sets me apart is my focus on maintaining open and continuous communication with my clients. Together, we identify their goals and craft a strategic plan to keep their matters moving forward. This approach enables me to thoroughly prepare for hearings, arguments, and negotiations. I was raised in Pearland, a suburb of Houston, and earned my Finance degree from Texas A&M University–College Station. My background in finance allows me to assist clients with complex property and asset divisions effectively. Hard work has always been important to me. While at Texas A&M, I balanced multiple jobs, including working in the food service industry and as a paralegal at a family law firm. These experiences helped me develop strong communication skills, which I bring to my practice today. I take pride not only in being solutions-driven and successful but also in being attentive to my clients’ emotional needs and a good listener. My goal is to be confident yet compassionate, relatable, and approachable. I graduated cum laude from South Texas College of Law, ranking in the Top 15% of my class.
