About
I have been practicing as a trial attorney since 2015 and bring nearly a decade of legal experience to the firm. My journey began as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where I gained extensive courtroom experience and developed my litigation skills. This role gave me a solid understanding of the complexities of legal proceedings, which I now apply to family law cases to serve my clients effectively. Before joining Skillern Firm, I worked as AVDA’s Sexual Assault attorney, where I was dedicated to justice and advocacy. In that role, I prosecuted protective orders and represented survivors of sexual assault in family law matters across Harris, Brazoria, and Fort Bend Counties. This work allowed me to develop a deep empathy for clients facing sensitive and emotionally charged situations, such as divorce and custody disputes. Being a native Houstonian, my connection to the community is both strong and personal. After earning my undergraduate degree in biology at Indiana University – Bloomington, I worked in pediatric cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center. My desire to make a meaningful impact led me to pursue a legal career, and I earned my law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston. While in law school, I participated in moot court and mock trial advocacy programs, reflecting my enthusiasm for trial work and my ability to effectively represent clients in court. Today, I focus my practice on family law, offering compassionate and dedicated representation to individuals navigating divorce, child custody, property division, and other family-related legal matters. My diverse professional background allows me to approach each case with care and precision. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children.
