I have been practicing law in Southern Illinois for more than 15 years. My work includes family law, guardianship law, criminal law, landlord-tenant law, mediation, guardian ad litem services, and drafting Wills and healthcare directive documents. I began my legal career in corporate law in 2010, later transitioning into prosecution and then public defense. In 2017, I opened The Law Office of Shannon Appleton, in Benton, Illinois, where I have been serving clients across Southern Illinois ever since. I am deeply committed to helping my clients resolve their legal matters efficiently while providing zealous and passionate representation. I make it a priority to be readily available to my clients and firmly believe in the principle that a lawyer is an employee of their client. I have lived in Southern Illinois for most of my life, graduating from Benton High School and then attending Western Illinois University where I obtained a bachelor degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. I obtained my law degree from Western Michigan Cooley Law School and my mediation certification from Northwestern University. My husband Josh and I have been married for almost 13 years and we have twin boys and a menagerie of animals.
