Ellie T. Schilling

The focus of my practice is complex business disputes and healthcare litigation, representing clients across various industries, including litigating on behalf of car dealerships in disputes against automobile manufacturers, and representing physicians, health clinics, and other health services providers in disputes against hospitals and the administrative and disciplinary agencies that regulate the healthcare profession. Education law is also a significant part of my work, and I regularly represent students facing school disciplinary proceedings and related litigation. I have extensive experience responding to Title IX investigations and representing students accused of a wide-range of conduct and academic allegations in disciplinary matters at Universities, graduate schools, and secondary schools throughout Louisiana. I frequently litigate constitutional challenges to laws, regulations, and government conduct under both the federal and Louisiana constitutions, and I have had the opportunity throughout my career to handle some of Louisiana’s most high-profile civil rights litigation. Holding government agencies, state actors, and Universities accountable for their actions is at the core of my practice. I represent both plaintiffs and defendants in all aspects of federal, state, and administrative matters at both the trial and appellate court levels.
