Rick Sand

Rick Sand is a criminal defense attorney that focuses his practice on representing individuals that have been charged with misdemeanors, felonies, and DUI. A graduate of the University of St. Thomas School of Law, he is a licensed attorney in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Arizona. Mr. Sand has been recognized by Super Lawyers since 2017. He has also been recognized for his outstanding advocacy by the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys, the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys, Lawyers of Distinction, AVVO, Martindale-Hubbell, the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys, the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys, America's Top 100 Attorneys, and the National Trial Lawyers Association. During law school, Mr. Sand worked for the Alaska Department of Administration’s Office of Public Advocacy. While at the Office of Public Advocacy Mr. Sand advocated for indigent clients accused of criminal offenses within the Municipality of Anchorage. He has also worked with the Arizona Justice Project in an effort to help inmates overturn wrongful convictions and has worked as contract counsel for the North Dakota Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents. Mr. Sand has been a coach for Special Olympics, coaching a variety of sports and volunteering for the Special Olympics Winter World Games in Boise, Idaho. Mr. Sand enjoys hunting and fishing as well as spending time outdoors.
