Ruzanna Poghosyan

I founded RP Defense Law in 2008 with the goal of serving clients throughout California. My journey began at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in the Health Care Fraud Division, where I gained valuable skills and insights that shaped my career. With a vision to create a leading criminal defense firm, I established RP Defense Law to provide personalized attention and unwavering advocacy for individuals facing criminal charges. At RP Defense Law, we operate differently from “cookie-cutter” firms. Our work is guided by three core principles: aggressive representation, tailored attention, and comprehensive legal support. These values have led to successful outcomes for thousands of clients. As I often say, “I went into criminal law to seek justice for the accused, the oppressed, and the voiceless. I fight for the rights of those whom society turns its back on.” I personally oversee every case, ensuring that no matter is passed off to junior staff. I collaborate with a team of skilled investigators, detectives, and other professionals to develop strategic defenses. As I like to emphasize, “It’s truly a team effort, where each member is carefully chosen to achieve the best outcome for each client.” Our firm handles a broad spectrum of criminal cases, ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies such as rape, armed robbery, mayhem, and homicide. We also take on federal cases, including white-collar crimes, drug and human trafficking, immigration offenses, and hate crime allegations.
