Richard Ramsey Kennedy III

I am a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana and a fifth‑generation attorney. After graduating from high school, I attended and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I returned home to Louisiana for law school at Loyola University New Orleans. After graduation, I served as a law clerk for the Honorable Gerard Wattigny in the 16th Judicial District Court for one year. In 2000, I joined my father at Richard R. Kennedy APLC, and since that time I have focused on helping people who have been injured or who have lost loved ones in car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, as well as workers hurt while working offshore. My desire to help others is what drives my work. In every case, I am committed to making sure my clients are treated fairly, that they can reach me easily, and that we work together as a team to pursue the best possible result. No one expects to be injured by someone else’s negligence, but it happens. I make it a point to explain the law, the goal, and the steps we need to take so my clients understand the process from start to finish. Over the years, this approach has led to settlements and verdicts ranging from a few thousand dollars to a recent recovery of more than $3 million. Even though I finished law school years ago, I have never stopped learning. I regularly attend conferences and programs on trucking litigation, technology, and traumatic brain injuries so that I can stay on the front lines and bring the most up‑to‑date strategies and knowledge to my clients’ cases.
