Megan Irinaga

I bring a calm and capable presence to clients navigating uncertain times. I understand that being involved in the criminal justice system can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to help good people through these challenges with clear communication, a carefully crafted strategy, and steadfast support. My work as a defense attorney is grounded in the years I spent as a Deputy District Attorney for Multnomah County, where I managed hundreds of criminal cases from beginning to end. During my time as a prosecutor, I gained valuable insight into how decisions are made behind the scenes, how cases are evaluated, and what matters most to judges and opposing counsel. This experience enables me to anticipate the prosecution’s approach and develop strong, practical defense strategies—often addressing issues before they reach the courtroom. Prior to my role as a prosecutor, I worked as a judicial clerk in the Multnomah County District Court. That "behind the bench" perspective taught me how cases progress through the legal system and underscored the importance of accuracy, preparation, and timing in achieving the best possible outcomes. I graduated from Willamette University College of Law, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Social Justice and Equity Legal Journal and held leadership roles in student government and the Asian Pacific American Legal Association. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Portland. My clients value my thoughtful and balanced approach, as well as my ability to simplify legal complexities in a way that replaces fear with understanding. I am both a determined advocate and a compassionate guide, helping the good people I work with move forward with confidence. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy hiking with my dog, cooking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
