James C. Twine

James Twine was born in Fort Hood, Texas, and after a childhood in New Jersey, he settled with his family in Cedar Park, Texas, in 1993. He holds a Leander High School diploma, a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University, a Masters in Public Administration from Texas State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Before embarking on his legal career, James's diverse experiences included proofreading at the Texas State Senate, underwriting for an insurance company, and writing for a local business paper. He also worked as a clerk in the Williamson County District Clerk’s Office and as an office specialist for Williamson County Court at Law #2. He subsequently served as a paralegal for the University of Texas at San Antonio and as a legal assistant for a criminal defense attorney. Outside of his legal pursuits, James finds joy in attending his daughter's basketball and soccer games, spending time on the lake with loved ones, and participating in live music events and festivals. Reflecting on his career, he shares, “I have a true passion for criminal defense work. I’ve spent all of my professional career as an attorney in areas of law where I thought I could be the most help to everyday people. When people ask me what type of business I’m in, I tell them I’m in the people business. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people on my journey, and I hope to continue serving the people in my community.”
