Mr. Jonathan Neal Portner

Mr. Portner is the Managing Partner of Portner & Shure, P.A. and is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. He represents clients in matters of criminal defense, personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, and drug and medical device injuries. Mr. Portner supervises Portner & Shure’s seven fully staffed offices, a staff of fifty and four lawyers. Every week he is involved in helping to recover over $500,000 in settlements and trial awards against the major insurance companies. Further, Mr. Portner is routinely in court, or advising in serious criminal matters throughout Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. Mr. Portner’s philosophy with insurance companies is to be aggressive, but fair. Above all else, Mr. Portner focuses on client satisfaction and works tirelessly on behalf of his clients. Mr. Portner dedicates considerable time to all of his endeavors but believes each personal injury or criminal case should be treated as if it's the only case of the Firm. He has obtained over $300 million in recoveries because of his attention to detail, willingness to litigate, and insistence that his staff have constant communication with each client. During the Covid-19 shutdown he continued to battle with the insurance companies and obtained a $900,000 settlement in a Newport News, Virginia car accident, a $750,000 settlement in a Hagerstown, Maryland wrongful death case, as well as a $450,000 settlement in a Bel Air, Maryland car accident case.
