Brandon Wilson Barnett

Brandon Barnett is a top-rated attorney practicing criminal defense, family law, military law, and more. He earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and then went on to earn a Masters of Law degree (LL.M.) in Litigation from George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C. Mr. Barnett's legal career began in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Judge Advocate in duty stations across the United States. In 2008, Mr. Barnett deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, where he advised commanders on Rule of Law and Law of Armed Conflict in combat operations. Returning to Texas in 2012, Mr. Barnett founded Barnett Howard & Williams PLLC, one of the premier law firms in Fort Worth, Texas. At BHW, Mr. Barnett's practice focused on criminal defense, military law, juvenile defense, and special education law. Brandon transitioned to Lubbock to join Payne, Powell, Truitt and Chandler in May 2025 as a partner. Brandon has consistently been named a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly and a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine. Mr. Barnett continues to serve as a Reserve U.S. Marine Judge Advocate, former military judge and adjunct law professor.
