For more than 40 years, Art House has been working with businesses of all types as a corporate lawyer and litigator. He chairs the firm’s Science & Technology and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice groups, and is a member of the Corporate practice group. Art’s background in enterprise development, licensing for technology-based companies and assisting both established and start-up businesses in developing legal, business alliance and acquisition strategies gives him unique insight into the real-world problems facing business owners. He advises his clients on a number of matters including legal and regulatory compliance for information security, the negotiation and preparation of licensing and co-venture agreements, software and hardware industry agreements, and corporate mergers and acquisitions. His services to clients cover a wide range of industry challenges, including pharmaceutical and biotech licensing, software and hardware development and licensing, SaaS, privacy and identity theft protection and remediation, the transfer and protection of intellectual property, equipment manufacturing, supply-chain controls and distribution, and systems integration for ISPs, ASPs, manufacturers, information technology, video gaming, biotechnology, medical device, telephony and cable TV companies. As one of the leading Alternative Dispute Resolution attorneys in the Mid-Atlantic region, Art is a member of both the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Neutrals (Commercial Arbitration) and Panel of Mediators, and is a mediator of the International Mediation Institute (IMI), located in The Hague, Netherlands. He has been chosen to serve on numerous arbitration cases as arbitration panel chair, and panel arbitrator.
