Klara M. Cockrell

I’m Klara M. Cockrell, an associate attorney focusing on general civil and family law matters. I strive to guide my clients through legal challenges with a practical and approachable style, prioritizing empathy, clear communication, and effective advocacy. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Advocacy, from Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating cum laude in 2022. I then completed my Juris Doctor at Southern Illinois University Simmons Law School in 2025. During my time in law school, I was actively involved in the Women’s Law Forum and participated in intramural moot court, where I honed my advocacy and litigation skills. Before being admitted to the Missouri Bar in April 2026, I worked as a law clerk in criminal law, personal injury, and civil litigation. These experiences provided me with a broad perspective in representing clients across various legal matters. Originally from Dunlap, Illinois, I now live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where I’m building my legal career. When I’m not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Joseph, and our Small Münsterländer pup, Hank.
