Luciano Oliveira

Luciano N. Oliveira is the Managing Attorney of Navas Oliveira Advogados (Oliveira Lawyers), a cross-border practice with offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, and Brasília. He represents clients in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia whose business, family, and investment interests reach into Brazil and Portugal. The firm advises multinational corporations, family offices, investment firms, and individuals on complex corporate transactions and M&A, international tax planning, family office and private wealth advisory, foreign direct investment and Brazilian market entry, cross-border estate and succession planning, real estate, international family law, and immigration. Mr. Oliveira has handled dozens of matters before Brazil's Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) — the country's principal forum for cross-border claims — and earlier served as a litigator in Dallas, Texas. He is admitted to practice in Brazil (São Paulo and Distrito Federal sections of the OAB), Texas, California, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from Universidade de São Paulo and a Bachelor's in Public Administration from EAESP/Fundação Getulio Vargas, an LL.M. in International Law from the Dedman School of Law of Southern Methodist University, and post-graduate programs in Immigration Law (PUC Minas Gerais) and Tax Law (IDP, Brasília). Before building his current practice, Mr. Oliveira spent two decades as a senior business consultant — including engagements with KPMG and GV Consult — and has worked in legal practice since 2004. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Section of International Law), the International Bar Association, the State Bars of Texas and California, and the OAB. He works in Portuguese and English.
