Kim Maxwell

Kim A. Maxwell, B.C.S., is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Marital and Family Law, a distinction held by only a small percentage of Florida attorneys. She focuses her practice exclusively on family law, representing clients in matters involving divorce, paternity, domestic violence, post-judgment modifications, and other complex family law disputes. Kim has extensive litigation experience and is also trained in collaborative divorce, helping clients resolve family law matters privately and efficiently outside of court when appropriate. Her background in finance, combined with her Master of Business Administration, provides valuable insight when handling cases involving complex financial issues and asset division. Recognized for her professional excellence, Kim has been selected annually to Super Lawyers Rising Stars and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Marital and Family Law since 2020. In 2017, she was one of only thirty attorneys selected statewide for the Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. Kim is actively involved in the legal community and has served in leadership roles within the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Marital and Family Law Section. She is also a member of the Stann W. Givens Family Law Inn of Court and the Canakaris Inn of Court. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to community service, including volunteer work supporting domestic violence victims and literacy initiatives. Kim earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Stetson University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
