Ryan Alexander Forbes

Ryan Forbes is a trial lawyer dedicated to defending the accused in the most serious and complex criminal matters. He represents clients in high-stakes felony cases, federal prosecutions, and internal investigations, bringing sharp advocacy and strategic judgment to cases where liberty and reputation are on the line. His work spans violent crime, financial fraud, and regulatory exposure, and he has defended clients investigated by the United States Attorney’s Office, the New York State Attorney General, and federal law enforcement agencies. Previously, Ryan practiced at a private law firm in Upstate New York, where he focused on criminal defense, white-collar investigations, and complex litigation. He tried cases to verdict and defended clients in federal proceedings in the Northern District of New York, building a foundation of extensive courtroom experience and a reputation for tireless advocacy across the state. Ryan has taken felony cases through trial to verdict and argued critical pre-trial motions, including suppression of evidence, dismissal of indictments, and exclusion of witness identifications. Known for his poise in the courtroom and meticulous preparation outside it, he has earned the trust of clients facing the full weight of government prosecution. Earlier in his career, Ryan litigated civil rights and regulatory compliance matters, representing plaintiffs in § 1983 cases and advising institutions on accountability. Ryan began his legal career as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Richard Rivera, Supervising Family Court Judge and Acting Supreme Court Justice in the Third Judicial District. He also worked with Prisoners’ Legal Services of New York and The Legal Aid Society, drafting motions on human rights and deportation cases.
