Ryan Lee Maughan

Ryan Maughan is a dedicated champion for justice and a steadfast voice for his community. Born and raised in Southern California, Ryan has spent his career advocating for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. His passion for service began long before he stepped into a courtroom—he first served as a VISTA volunteer through AmeriCorps, working to uplift underserved communities by promoting causes like early childhood literacy and family advocacy. Today, Ryan continues that mission as a trial attorney, fighting for clients who have been wronged and seeking to bring them the justice they deserve. He is known for his unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of fairness. Ryan earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to receive his J.D. from Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law. While still in law school, he proved his legal acumen early by successfully trying his first case in federal court as an intern with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. He further sharpened his skills at a nationally recognized law firm, where he represented major corporations and public institutions through all stages of litigation. His ability to think strategically and advocate effectively earned him a strong reputation in the field. Later, Ryan served as a trial attorney for a national insurance company, gaining invaluable insight into the inner workings of insurers—knowledge he now uses to protect injured clients from the very tactics he once witnessed. As the founder of his own law practice, Ryan leverages this experience to stand up for those harmed by negligence or injustice. Clients value his empathetic approach, strategic mindset, and fearless courtroom presence. In addition to his legal work, Ryan serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, where he helps shape the future of trial advocacy in his community.
