About
Since 1991, my practice has grown significantly. I focus on Foreclosure Defense, Estate Planning, Real Estate, and my practice has expanded to include several lawyers and support staff. My partner, Gary Newland, and his team handle personal injury cases. I am often invited to speak at bar association seminars to share insights with other lawyers on the areas of law I work in. Additionally, I have volunteered my time at the foreclosure court help desk at the courthouse, assisting individuals facing foreclosure. My success in defending foreclosures has led to one of the largest foreclosure defense practices in the Chicago area and the largest in Lake County, Illinois. For over 30 years, I have been helping clients create estate plans, including living trusts, wills, and powers of attorney for health care and financial matters. Also I have handled many thousands of real estate transactions, previously serving on the board of directors of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association. I earned my undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I then pursued my law degree at DePaul University in Chicago, where I excelled academically and received the Dean's Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence. Early in my career, I worked at one of the nation's largest and most prestigious personal injury law firms, handling multimillion-dollar, high-profile cases such as the Tylenol poisonings and major aviation disasters. During this time, I also provided legal representation to those unable to afford an attorney through the DePaul Legal Aid Clinic.
