Edward Alan Monsky

From a young age, Edward A. Monsky recognized that law and policy could meaningfully shape people's lives — and he wanted to be part of that work. His mother, who was active in local and state government, was an early influence. At Scranton Central High School, he developed his voice through debate and political science clubs, then went on to study sociology and spend several years in government before concluding that he could do the most good as an attorney. After earning his JD, Ed built the majority of his career as a defense attorney — four years in Wilkes-Barre, then 35 years in Scranton — representing insurance companies in auto claims, premises liability, and professional liability matters, including medical malpractice. He joined Munley Law in 2020, bringing that deep defense-side experience to the plaintiff's table. Four decades in, he remains a committed student of the law, listening closely to clients, asking the right questions, and finding new ways to move cases forward. Outside the office, Ed gives back to his community through longstanding involvement with the Scranton Jewish Community Center and Elan Gardens Senior Living. He stays active on the basketball court and enjoys walking, bowling, listening to music, and reading. He and his wife have two sons and five grandchildren.
