Melinda Ghilardi

If she hadn't gone to law school, personal injury attorney Melinda C. Ghilardi says she would likely have become a social worker. Beyond the genuine satisfaction of helping her clients, she's drawn to the intellectual challenge of a field that never stands still, one that demands she stay current with an ever-evolving body of law. Before joining Munley Law Personal Injury Attorneys, Melinda spent more than three decades with the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She launched her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Lackawanna County. In 2019, Melinda stepped away from the Public Defender's Office, but she wasn't looking to slow down. When fellow Scranton Preparatory School alumna Marion Munley reached out, Melinda saw an opportunity to take on a new kind of challenge in private practice at one of Pennsylvania's most respected firms. The move from criminal to civil law was a significant shift, but she's found an enduring thread connecting both chapters of her career, the meaningful work of helping individuals access the resources they need and achieve the best possible outcomes. Outside the office, Melinda enjoys traveling with family, friends, and colleagues, occasionally fostering pets, and staying closely connected with her nieces and nephews. She lives in Lackawanna County with her husband, a retired attorney and Air Force veteran.
