Samantha Plesser

Samantha Plesser most recently received a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from The New School of Public Engagement and is an attorney in New York City with more than five years’ experience monetizing labor and employment risks within government and corporate affairs teams of consumer goods, retail and professional services sectors. She also holds two Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Jurist Doctorate from Cornell Law School. Her diverse skills include researching and writing about regulatory policy, analyzing ROI, and increasing engagement across human rights, justice and supply chain issues. Realizing that to make a tangible difference in areas she is passionate about – corporate sustainability and business ethics, Samantha needed to focus on public policy and therefore returned to study her MS in Management & Public Policy. She thrives in diverse cultural settings shown by her pro bono leadership with the Open Society, the UN Department of Economic & Social Affairs and Legal Aid Society. Most recently Samantha was selected as a Net Impact Service Corps Consultant to design a strategic plan for market expansion into the US for the nonprofit, No Strings Attached. She subsequently was asked to participate in a pilot program with Acumen and Net Impact working using Human Centered Design (HCD) to solve real world problems. After graduating from Cornell Law School, Samantha worked at Liddle & Robinson, LLP as an associate during the height of the financial crisis at a law firm whose primary client base were investment banks and hedge funds. There she played an integral role in regulatory, compliance, and labor cases for her client base and was co-counsel in over ten trials from start to finish. She received the New York State Rising Star Award in February 2013, given to the top 1% of attorneys in New York State practicing less than ten years. She is a published writer having written for more than 30 journals on labor rights,
