Michael P Maddux

Michael Maddux has been a licensed attorney since 1992. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Florida State University and his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He has been Board Certified in Criminal Trial Practice by the Florida Bar since 1999. Mr. Maddux served as an Assistant State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit and as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor with the Office of the Attorney General. He is admitted to practice in all three federal districts in Florida, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Police Accountability Project. He served two terms as president of the Hillsborough County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and is a graduate of Trial Lawyers College. Mr. Maddux handles criminal defense, personal injury, and civil rights litigation. His civil rights practice focuses on pursuing justice for those harmed by law enforcement through federal and state court actions. His personal injury practice includes automobile accidents, wrongful death, products liability, and slip and fall cases. Outside the office, Michael is involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, serves as an elder at his Presbyterian church, and is board president of the Timothy Initiative, a men's recovery home.
