Michele’s career in criminal defense began well before she was admitted to the Bar. While completing law school at night, she maintained a rigorous 60-hour weekly schedule interning with the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Major Crimes Unit, assisting seasoned trial attorneys on high-stakes death penalty cases. This trial-by-fire experience laid the foundation for her career as a Public Defender, where she specialized in complex litigation and developed a "no shortcuts" courtroom philosophy. After relocating to Los Angeles, Michele continued her advocacy with the Alternate Public Defender’s Office and Alternate Defense Counsel.
