About

I have had the privilege of appearing in trials and appeals across every level of the Virginia and United States federal court systems, as well as in federal and state court cases outside of Virginia. I graduated from Duke University and the University of North Carolina School of Law. My legal career began in Richmond, Virginia, where I served as an Assistant Attorney General, leading the antitrust enforcement unit in Virginia’s Office of the Attorney General before transitioning to private practice. Over the years, I have been actively involved in the organized bar, holding roles such as Chairman of the Virginia State Bar Antitrust and Franchising Law Committee, instructor in the Virginia State Bar’s mandatory Professionalism Course, and President of the Bar Association of the City of Richmond. My accomplishments have been recognized through my Fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers and as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. My practice encompasses a wide range of complex litigation matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. I have handled cases involving antitrust issues, including horizontal agreements, monopolization, and state action, as well as grand jury representation. In patent litigation, I have served as local co-counsel in disputes over microelectronics, medical devices, and software development. My work has also included high-dollar contract disputes in the railroad industry and the defense of high-exposure lawyers’ professional liability claims. Additionally, I have been involved in class action matters in areas such as antitrust and consumer lending law.
