Matthew Martin McGuire

McGuire Law has been practicing in South Carolina for more than 30 years. What started as a small firm has become one of the more well-known practices in the state, earning recognition both locally and nationally. We handle criminal defense, personal injury, and family law. We know these areas can be stressful — and we take that seriously. There's no one-size-fits-all approach here. Each case gets its own strategy based on the actual facts and circumstances involved. We practice across all 46 counties in South Carolina. We're familiar with the courts, the local legal communities, and the people in them. That kind of on-the-ground knowledge matters when you're building a case. Matt McGuire earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina. Before starting his own practice, he served as a law clerk for a State Circuit Judge, worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina, and spent time as an Assistant Solicitor in the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office.
