Peter Massaro

I have dedicated my career to practicing employment law, and I have experience with many different areas of employment law. I am very familiar with the federal sector EEO process, which is the process through which federal employees can pursue claims of employment discrimination against the federal agencies that employ them. For over seven years, I served as an Administrative Judge at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In that role, I presided over hundreds of cases in which federal employees alleged that their employing agencies had subjected them to unlawful discrimination. I impartially evaluated the evidence in these cases, and when the evidence established discrimination, I issued decisions granting appropriate relief to the employees. Before my time as an Administrative Judge, I worked as Assistant Regional Counsel for the Social Security Administration (SSA). There, I defended SSA against claims of employment discrimination and represented the agency before the EEOC and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). Now, I use the experience I gained in those positions to advocate for employees who have been mistreated by their employers. I value clear communication with my clients and take pride in helping them pursue justice. I also offer mediation services, and when I act as a mediator, I draw on the wealth of experience mediating cases that I gained as an Administrative Judge. I graduated magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. Before attending law school, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy swimming laps, playing tennis, and spending time with my wife and our two children.
