Seth T. Mansfield

Seth joined Mansfield Melancon after practicing with two of Lafayette's preeminent law firms. Seth joined Mansfield Melancon to pursue the firm's goal of understanding a client's wishes while efficiently and aggressively pursuing the most favorable result. After receiving his J.D. from LSU, Seth accumulated experience in Personal Injury Litigation, Property Damage Litigation, Insurance Defense, Coverage Litigation, and Commercial Litigation and Transactions (including Collections, Corporate Organizational Work, Contract/Lease Preparation, Mergers, and Acquisitions). Seth has appeared before various Louisiana administrative agencies (including Louisiana's Office of Workers' Compensation), 20+ Louisiana Judicial District Courts, several Louisiana Appellate Courts, the U.S. District Courts in Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Before practicing law, Seth attended LSU and UL Lafayette (B.S. 2006). While earning a Master’s from Univ. of Cincinnati (M.S. 2009), he worked as a commissioned patrol deputy with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. Seth is an active member of Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers, where he participates in Counsel of Call, Pro Bono Protective Orders, and the Homeless Experience Legal Protection (HELP) Program. He has been awarded the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Award (2016), the Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Pro Bono Award (2014), the Louisiana State Bar Association Pro Bono Century Award (2014-2016), and the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers Outstanding Attorney Award (2013-2019). Seth has also been recognized by his peers as a "Top Lawyer" in Commercial Litigation (2019, 2020), Corporate Law (2020), and Workers' Compensation Law (2017). Seth's wide-ranging experiences provide him with the ability to develop a clear result-oriented vision for his clients, and Seth provides each of his client's with trusted legal counsel, personal attention, and aggressive advocacy.
