Michael S. Mahoney

Founder & Managing Attorney | Mahoney Law LLC Michael S. Mahoney is a Georgia criminal defense attorney with over 20 years of experience in criminal law. He is the founder and managing attorney of Mahoney Law LLC, where he represents clients in felony criminal defense, juvenile delinquency matters, and criminal appellate practice. Mr. Mahoney’s background includes substantial experience on both sides of the courtroom. He previously served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Forsyth and Gwinnett Counties, prosecuting serious felony cases and trying more than 50 jury trials. He also served as a Senior Assistant Public Defender in the Paulding Judicial Circuit, where he defended indigent clients charged with major felonies and practiced in juvenile court. In addition to trial work, Mr. Mahoney has managed over a thousand criminal cases through all stages of litigation, from arrest and pretrial proceedings through appeal and post-conviction relief. He has received specialized training from the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service in computer and cell phone forensics and the handling of digital evidence. Mr. Mahoney is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Court of Appeals. He is an active member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
