Kabara DeAnne Korth Praskavich

Kabara Korth Praskavich is a partner at Maddox & Gerock, P.C., where her practice is devoted entirely to domestic relations. She supports clients through emotionally challenging transitions with clarity and care, ensuring they remain informed and confident at every stage of the legal process. Her work covers the full spectrum of family law, including custody, support, property division, and post-decree enforcement. Kabara offers valuable insight in cases involving complex financial matters such as business valuations, executive compensation, and dissipation of assets. She is a frequent speaker on these subjects at national legal conferences and continuing education programs. Her approach is highly individualized, shaped by the unique facts of each case and the client’s goals. Some matters are resolved through settlement or mediation, while others require litigation and collaboration with financial or mental health professionals. Kabara helps clients assess the personal and financial implications of each path forward, crafting a legal strategy that reflects their priorities. She earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she received the school’s pro bono certificate for completing over 350 hours of volunteer work—most of it in family law. During law school, she interned at the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, supporting LGBT and HIV-positive service members under the now-repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. She also clerked in the D.C. Superior Court on matters involving civil commitment, and child protection. Kabara holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Chicago. She lives in Maryland with her spouse, children, and their dog. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and exploring her love of all things nerdy.
