Shane M. Boasberg

Shane M. Boasberg was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later moved to Texas to pursue his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He earned his degrees in Government and History in 1999 before continuing his education at South Texas College of Law Houston. During law school, Shane clerked for the respected firm Gallagher, Lewis, Downey & Kim, where he gained substantial experience in legal research, appellate writing, and trial preparation—including work on one of the largest settlements in U.S. history. This early exposure to complex litigation helped shape his meticulous, disciplined approach to legal advocacy. After graduating in 2002, Shane began his legal career with Heard, Robins, Cloud, Lubel & Greenwood LLP in Houston. In 2004, he returned to Austin to serve as General Counsel to Texas Senator Mario Gallegos. His legislative work was followed by a position with the Office of the Texas Attorney General under then–Attorney General Greg Abbott, where Shane advanced his advocacy skills and handled a broad range of legal and policy matters affecting Texans statewide. Shane founded SMB Law, PC in 2005, establishing a primary office in Austin and a satellite office in Georgetown, Texas.
